About Me
Wil Keltjens was born and raised in The Netherlands,
Europe. After spending a few years in Belgium, she and
her family moved to South Florida in 1999. Starting in the
mid-80's Wil developed an interest in the art of sculpting
dolls.
In her early work she created little fantasy sculptures
using clay and dressing them up with hand crafted
clothing. While her techniques and skills progressed and
her interests deepened, she started working with a
material called Paverpol. This innovative product was
originally developed in The Netherlands. The material
acts as a fabric harderner and is used in combination with
cotton cloth to create all kinds of sculptures like dolls,
statues, and memorabilia. Once finished sculpting, the
material hardens naturally and is fit be used both
in-house as well as in an exterior garden display. As such,
Paverpol presents an easy to use material that is
accessible to everyone and stimulates creativity.
Wil has been trained by and worked with various well
renowned Dutch, Belgian, and American artists and
developed her own unique style. Through her close
relationships with various artists as well as suppliers both
in Europe and North-America, she continues to deepen
her understanding of the various materials and stays
abreast of any new developments. She is a certifies
Paverpol instructor, and hosts frequent teaching courses
in the Montreal - Canada area. Beyond that she has also
been a winning participant in art shows, and is selling her
creations to interested individuals and institutions.
